Not your typical PowerPoint deck

David Byrne of Talking Heads fame has put together an elaborate mix of music, photography and illustration representing a blend of everyday images and words. Not so unusual for Byrne, who has been creating music and art for the past quarter century. What is unusual is that Byrne uses Microsoft PowerPoint as the delivery medium. Envisioning Emotional Epistemological Information is the result, a book of artwork only Byrne could muster up. But why PowerPoint?

"The software and billions of pod people who use it are on their way to happiness, contentment, and a feeling of belonging -- belonging to a society that feels the same way they do, that thinks the same way they do and shares their values.", Byrne said.

"Therefore, rather than give in to my smarmy boho tendencies, I decided that I must surrender and learn to use this software myself, for, like everyone, I long to belong. I have a long way to go."

Byrne will be exhibiting this creation in New York on Monday, September 15th and the 92nd Street Y. Tickets are only US$25.

Now if only Byrne were around to help our sales guys with their sales presentations...
