I just returned from an extended weekend in upstate New York - birthplace of yours truly. My venture back was prompted by many things, including the fact that it's been a rocky year for the Winegard family and that I haven't been 'home' in four years. It was good to see family and to revel at just how easy it is to feel a bond with people, despite the time that passes. Many laughs, many smiles, many hours on the road - an excellent weekend.

Amazon.com's web services are apparently ready to run off and make things with. All you need to do is download the free developer's kit, apply for a developer's token and you'll be off and running! No doubt about it - holiday shopping will be a whole new experience this year...

Back from a week long vacation in northern Michigan. Relaxing time, to say the least. Dinner at The Rowe on the 4th of July (my birthday) was my favorite, by far - pecan stuffed morels, the infamous white chocolate brownie and a top notch wine list are each worth the trip in and of themselves.
