Dooce's ordeal Permanent link to this post

Allright - read about Dooce's ordeal and then come back here... I'll wait... tick.. tock...

OK - what a bunch of bullshit. How can an amorphous company terminate an employee for weblogging about their feelings? Especially when said company and it's employees were never named? What's the difference between Dooce bitching to her fiancee' regarding how much her job sucks and her bitching into her weblog about it? Sounds to me like she was fired for bitching. If so, I've got to be next - I bitch about my job all the time...

Creative design community resources Permanent link to this post

Stumbled upon CreativePublic this afternoon, a creative design community/resource site. It has loads of info related to the design business, freelancing, etc. Did I mention downloadable design templates? (thanks xBlog)

Musical train tracks Permanent link to this post

The Music section is up and running. This week's setlist, "Train Tracks", is a sampling of songs that have been keeping me sane on the 'L' to and from work every day. Go download them.

'The' patch? Permanent link to this post

A Trillian patch was released this afternoon. Could it be the result of yesterdays post? Anyway, I'm switching back and plan to use Odigo in emergency IM situations.

Trillian, AIM and Odigo Permanent link to this post

I don't know if any of you have been following the Trillian/AIM saga, but I've been caught in the crossfire (being a Trillian user and all). If you use Trillian, are sick of waiting for the next AIM patch and don't want to succumb to AOL, give Odigo a try. It doesn't act as stable as Trillian, but has some unique features. I've been using it for a few days now and it's working.

Very cool satellite picture of the Earth (540kb) 'at night'. Is your light on?

JavaScript e-mail address encoder Permanent link to this post

Old news for some, but Hivelogic has a handy e-mail address encoder that translates a given e-mail address into its numerical equivalents and wraps it in JavaScript. A great way to ward off spam-spiders crawling your website for e-mail addresses.

New design of co][nz.org released Permanent link to this post

The new 'design' is finally live, and the time that I spent focusing on it accounts for the lack of insightful posts over the last few weeks (my apologies to all two of you). There are still a couple of areas to finalize and post content for, but I couldn't bear waiting so I went live with what I'd completed so far. I've enjoyed building it and I hope that you enjoy using it.
